Jets over Pampa 2009
The nineteenth edition of Jets over Pampa was a huge success! With over 3000 visitors was this one of the biggest Jets over Pampa meeting we've had in years. The beautiful weather on Sunday sure was a big cause in it.
Even on Saturday we had nice weather, apart from the rainshowers in the afternoon.
There were about one hundred pilots at our field that brought over 150 beautiful planes with them. As usual, the pilots came from Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, the UK, France and Luxemburg.
Just like last year, we had pilots coming from as far as Sweden. One of them received the trophy for the furthest coming pilot.
There were of course a considerable amount of (fast) sport-jets present, but the share of beautiful scale-jets was signifficant. The most striking plane was a pink Barbie-Flash, with a cockpit containing a Barbie-doll and all the accessories she might need.
One of the most spectacular flights was flown by Ali Machinchy with his Eurosport 3D, a jet with a controllable thrust vector. This jet can hover, make extreme small loopings (on the spot) and very fast flat spins. We've never saw a jet doing this!
As always, the jury had a lot of work in judging the jets and flying acrobatics of the pilots. Finally, they chose Ali Machinchy with his A-10 Warthog as this year's winner (top picture).
To conclude, we as organization want to thank all the pilots, the numerous spectactors and our hardworking members who made Jets over Pampa 2009 a huge success!
The list of trophies and the pilot's top 5 is available on this page.
A jury made this list during the show sunday-afternoon while judging the planes and the aerobatics of the pilots.
